Assemblies of Solidarity in Strasbourgh

As the Conference on the Future of Europe came to its conclusion, so did the Assembly of Solidarity project. The results of the project’s process were collected and presented in the context of the Strasbourg Summit, where CTOE members intervened. Specific topics included the presentation of:
– the Open Letter sent to the three EU institutions Presidents asking for a people-powered Convention: https://citizenstakeover.eu/blog/open-letter-to-eu-presidents-we-need-a-people-powered-convention/. The letter gathered signatures from more than 82 organisations, as well as from more than 20 MEPs
– the Manifesto for a European Citizens Assembly: https://citizenstakeover.eu/what-we-stand-for/#publications (scroll to 2021 publications)
– the innovative methodology used in the Assemblies of Solidarity project
– the Palermo Declaration and the Porto Declaration
– the role of European NGOs in direct democracy
