An inclusive event focusing on citizen engagement tools and funding EU funding opportunities for local communities, small cities, and CSOs.
This year is marked by the launch of the Conference on the Future of Europe, a new platform in which citizens play a vital role in engaging in conversations with EU decision-makers. The third international event of the European Academy Network will provide insights into maximising the civic and political participation at an EU level for ordinary European citizens and will give both international and local participants an opportunity to learn more about engagement opportunities within the European institutions.
The event will consist of two sessions: the first session in the morning will feature a presentation on Citizens’ engagement tools (Complaints; requesting access to documents; request to Ombudsman; petitions; European Citizens’ Initiatives). The second session will take place in the afternoon and will focus primarily on EU funding programmes, including new opportunities under the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, in addition to a preview of the first ever Plenary of the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE).
We will be using inclusive formats adapted to a virtual setting: debates, training activities, open space sessions, optional observations of activities of European Institutions. The programme will likely take 3-4 hours.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
