We ask the European Commission to propose a EU legislation to discourage the consumption of fossil fuels, encourage energy saving and the use of renewable sources for fighting global warming and limiting temperature increase to 1,5°C. The European Citizens Initiative “StopGlobalaWarming.eu A price for carbon to fight climate change” was  submitted by Marco Cappato and Monica Frassoni as the first two signatories and it has been registered by the European Commission on the 22nd of July 2019. The collection of signatures should be completed by the 22nd of July 2020.

Granting people full political rights where they live can help favour their integration in society. The political differentiation between EU and national citizens gives the wrong signal to policies of integration and does nothing either to help tackle the integration of migrants and refugees from outside the EU in European society.

In the course of starting the European Citizens’ Initiative we asked ourselves how Unconditional Basic Income touches other people in other countries. So we set up the UBI4ALL raffle in order to check out the effects of Basic Income throughtout Europe.

This initiative calls for citizens to be allowed to share files directly via peer-to-peer networks in order for them to have access to science and culture without being subject to checks and profiling. EU legislation enabling this would be perfectly compatible with international law if rightholders were given fair compensation.

Our biodiversity is at risk as never before. That is why the European Commission set a target in the “Green Deal” to reduce the use of pesticides by 50%. The pesticide industry, their allies in the European Parliament and national governments are attacking this historic target. Never before has it been so important for EU citizens to raise their voices against the use of pesticides. Demand the phase-out of pesticides now!

The future must be ours to shape. Facial recognition can and will be used against each of us by governments and corporations – based on who we are and what we look like. Reclaim our public space. Ban biometric mass surveillance!

“Finning” is a brutal practice used in fishing on the high seas. Sometimes the sharks are hunted selectively, but increasingly Finning is being practiced with the “unwanted by-catch” of tuna and swordfish fishing. Immediately after catching the sharks all the fins are cut off and the remaining carcasses thrown back into the sea. It’s time for Europe to Act against Finning!
